PTO Meeting: 3/3 at 5:30 PM - JCIB PG Campus

Hello Family, The PTO meeting has been rescheduled for March 3, 2020 at 5:30 PM.  It will be held at the JCIB Pleasant Grove Campus. For parents interested in learning more about your student's future at JCIB Shades Valley. There will be a segment about academies. Eighth-grade parents don't miss it. We will also be discussing study skills. That is something many of us agree that our students need help mastering. If they can master it during the middle years program, it will be a huge benefit at the end of their IB matriculation. The meeting is scheduled for 1 hour.  Add it to your schedule  and meet us at JCIB PG Campus on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at 5:30 PM.

Have You Seen Our Alabama State Department of Education Report Card?

Hello Family, We are almost at the end of our first week of school in 2020.  It seems like the school year just started.  What a great school year it has been?! Our students have worked hard. We have also worked hard to support and encourage our students. It is paying off. We hear a lot about the performance of students in Alabama. But, do you really know how our school is performing?  The Alabama State Department of Education publishes a report card for every school. The report card includes test scores, absenteeism rates, student demographics, and teacher demographics. You'll be glad to know our school scored an overall score of 100%.  You can see how our students performed in specific academic areas in the report. You can even compare that score to other schools in the county and state. If you'd like to review our school's report card, click here . We Are At War...Penny War That Is

Hello Family! Thank you for all you have done for the JCIB PG Campus family this year. Our teachers have identified Chromebooks and classroom supplies as a need this year.  A 2018 Washington Post article  stated that nearly all public school teachers report spending personal funds for school supplies. On average they spent nearly $480 a year, far more than the federal $250 tax deduction available to teachers. Please help us support our teachers by participating in the penny war.  While you are out shopping this weekend and next week, save your change and send it to the school for the penny war. Every little bit counts. If you don't have coins, dollars and checks are also accepted.

Before Veterans Day ends, we want to salute each and every veteran that is a part of the JCIB PTO family!  We appreciate your service and sacrifice. We hope you have enjoyed your day off in honor of your service. On this Veterans Day, let us remember the service of our veterans, and let us renew our national promise to fulfill our sacred obligations to our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much so that we can live free. Each year, our school remembers our veterans' service. Here a few photos and videos from the Veterans Day program.
